The issue is that paint off-gassing during and for a few days after drying is toxic to various degrees (even the one that we were told wasn't turned out to be toxic upon deeper research). Our issue is that all the materials we have come across all require frequent ongoing repainting. If not, someone needs to find or create it, as the currently available alternatives are a productivity and health nightmare. Is there any material that does not require painting after every shoot or couple of shoots at best? We currently use 12-foot wide seamless and muslin for our grays and green-screen respectively, but we need more than what they provide in terms of size and utility.

We need to install a cyc set (40' total length, 11.5' tall with one 90 degree bend in the middle with about 1->2 inch elevated flooring). Costs more than the usual primers but you only need a gallon for most projects and any paint will stick to it when you're done. Get extra paint for whatever you use on top (I got a flat white Benjamin Moore interior paint in 5 gallon bucket at a closeout store for $20!) so you'll always have extra to cover up as it gets dirty. By the way, the weight issue isn't all bad it does help keep a consistent curve where more traditional ones can collapse & buckle easily.

Ask at your hardware store for the primer that sticks to ANYTHING. This is also a great way to create a one-direction swoop for a cyclorama, but paint doesn't stick to the foam back of all types of vinyl. I'm trying to remember the sizes I use in my studio 1/2' and 3/4'? It creates a double wall pipe that is much stiffer than either alone. I recommend using two sizes of electrical conduit nested. And it can be too heavy for many crossbars. Get the cheapest grade you can find to save weight. If you don’t see a personalisation section, you can always message the seller with your request too.Flooring vinyl is MUCH heavier than regular backdrops.
